This is exactly the sort of story more people need to be reading. (And most especially people on the Left.)

Too many people are talking about these issues in an ivory-tower intellectual philosophical way. They talk about "This is what America is all about! Bring the best and the brightest to America and that is good for us all! Hurrah!"

Well, yes, ordinary immigration IS exactly that.

But H-1B is NOT that. Your story, putting the actual on-the-ground factual realitiy of the H-1B program on display is what everyone-- Left, Right, and Indifferent-- need to hear and understand.

It is bad for Americans (who are perfectly qualified for these jobs but lose those jobs anyway, no matter what Vivek and Elon say about Americans being un-educated and lazy) AND it is bad for the people being brought over here! This poor guy you describe as being in tears, trapped, in low-paying indentured servitude.

Gosh, I really do wish more people would hear real stories like this so that they could then have an intelligent discussion about the topic instead of taking some knee-jerk ideological stand, whatever anyone's ideology might be.
