I attribute no evil motives or evil intent to any Justice. They are all highly intelligent, and therefore quite capable of weaving a web of intellectual justifications into which they entangle themselves.

If they vote to overturn the Colorado ruling, they will do so having convinced themselves it was necessary in order to "protect democracy" ... when in actual fact, it is section 3 of the 14 Amendment that protects democracy. Thus will these "defenders of democracy" participate in the destruction thereof.
