Thank you for this interesting and thoughtful discussion. You put into words what has long nagged at me, but (under the thumb of that Christian privilege) I've sometimes struggled to articulate.

I'm neither a Christian nor an atheist (I'm a neo-pagan) and I can't tell you how many times I have felt tempted to leave a comment to Christians ... not so much berating them or even telling them they are wrong ... but so tempted to say "hey, did you know there is an alternative religious philosophy? with lots of loving happy people living loving happy lives?" And then, I know, if I ever gave into the temptation to start typing out that comment... I would inevitably slip into, well... berating Christianity and listing it's history of oppression, crimes, etc. Which of course would be totally unproductive.

I'm rambling a bit here, but I guess my point is that I do wish there could be, frankly, a little more Biblical "eye for an eye" where I could at least do what they do, and not fear having a hammer smash down on my head for daring to commit the crime of offending them... even though it is perfectly okay in their minds to either mock or laugh at my paganism (at best) or accuse me of being a pedophile Satanist. *sigh*
