Subtracting that last sentence there, I actually appreciated your comments. In all seriousness, I do think both sides, Right AND Left, need to hear a bit more of the thought process that goes on the other side.

I do believe that everyone views the world through their own filter, which in turn tints everything. Viewers of MSNBC, in particular viewers of Chris Hayes and Joy Reid, are given an extremely, and often angrily, slanted view of whatever is the topic of the day, and that is not particularly helpful, but very good for drumming up anger, which is very good for drumming up an audience. That is true on both Right and Left.

So, Fox News is not the only criminal on the block. Everybody in the media world is guilty, except maybe the PBS Newshour, which is the only place that is just the news and just the facts.

As far as seeing race in everything, though I understand why you would say that is toxic, it was always my view that the LACK of recognizing the role of race in everything is what has been toxic for a couple hundred years. We can agree to disagree on that. However, I would concede that extreme views are generally unhelpful. Thus, I wonder if the correct view in all of this is somewhere to the right of mine and to the left of yours?

In any case, that parting shot aside ;-) I did appreciate you reading what I wrote and commenting upon it.
