She is a counselor, eh? She missed her calling. She should have been a politician (that is not a compliment). I recognize the type, the same tactics, the slippery rhetorical flourishes, beating people over the head with kindness, the whole slippery eel approach. Yes, it is unfortunate she is a counselor. She takes good ideas, good theories, generally good principles and then twists them into a gaslighting tour de force. Sorry Lilith that you had to suffer the emotional harm she plainly inflicted on you in her effort to "help" you. With help like that, who needs enemies, right?
I do see what you endeavor to do in your writing. You certainly pull no punches, and I can see where some might take offense if they are only looking superficially. However, I understand the larger points you are trying to make. And I applaud your daringly blunt way of doing so. A pity that she -- and others -- can't actually hear what you are really saying. They are just waiting for their turn to speak, and never really listen.
But ... that is a politician, right? They have an agenda and come hell or high water -- an odd phrase my dad often used -- they are going to stick with it. It is beating your head against a brick wall to even engage with such people at all.
