Precisely why I asked the question, wondering what really motivated at least some of the men in this story. Too dismissive to just say "well they wanted what they wanted, perfect housewives."
I just don't think it is that simple.
Though unfortunately the film didn't really delve into that... just the shot of the husband sitting in the dark with tears in his eyes.
I don't think I am the only woman to ponder "what about the men and what men want." But of course, I obviously can't answer that question... I need men to tell me.
To which men would undoubtedly reply (quite understandably) that they are afraid to since some militant feminist might shoot them down.
I do agree men and women have more in common than society acknowledges... and that is a "society" problem.
