It actually is a mistake to focus too much on Trump. He of course MUST be defeated, but Liz Cheney herself noted is the Republican Party as it now stands is a big problem. It needs to be changed. People tend to forget, but once upon a time there was such a thing as a "pro-choice" Republican. Not to mention there used to be Republicans who didn't want big government involved in our private lives.

The "authoritarian dictatorship" is indeed already here, and they don't actually have to have Trump. I knew it was here when CPAC had as honored guest Viktor Orban of Hungary.

This is a fight that is not going to be won overnight. And even if we have some victories, the forces of misogynistic patriarchy will still be nipping at our heels to try and claw their way back.

So, I would say the answer is this: Nobody gets to say "well, I'm not very interested in politics." No. No woman and no man who cares about women gets to say that anymore. Politics is literally life and death. No sitting on the sidelines for ANYONE. It has to be all in.

And it will have to be all in for many years to come.
