I think you make an excellent point here. And as I see relatively few claps, as well as some rather odd responses, it is unfortunate that it appears that more people don't "get it."

Unfortunately, in this age of social media, cable news echo chambers, and tribalism, our whole political discourse in this country has devolved into playing the "spin game." And to be sure, the spin game is a really nasty and dirty game, a matter of taking truth and facts and matters of intellectual nuance and twisting and distorting them to one's advantage to appeal to people's emotions. You give excellent examples of this in action by the Republicans, in particular our call for justice on behalf of murdered black people being taken by the spin doctors at Fox News and others and turned into "hatred of the police." Democrats are certainly playing the spin game too, but they are not as skilled at it.

As Mark Twain said: "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

My greatest fear is that Biden/Harris are in the position of having to argue with an idiot. How do we win that? I fear that a warm and positive "gosh, America really is wonderful" spiel, true though that is, will never get through. Hard to get facts heard when everyone -- on boths sides -- are just screaming and shouting.
