I do sympathize with your sentiments here. And believe me, I would in the abstract love to "de-platform" a whole host of people. However ... I really do think we need to tread carefully to win in the long run. I do not pretend to have all the answers on what we should do, but I feel I know what we should not do: We should not fight fire with fire, because that will only result in one big conflagration, and no one wins when everything is burned to the ground, figuratively speaking.

On the other hand, it is true that being the kind and thoughtful person in a fistfight means you are likely to be clocked across the jaw and laid out flat on the ground. I do recognize that. Yet, I still do not want to throw a punch. I would rather ... oh, I don't know, deftly dodge their punches till they wear themselves out and collapse from their own idiocy? Does that make sense?

Ironic, though, I suppose, that I (the non-Christian) subscribe to "turn the other cheek."
