Applause to your criticism of this cliche attitude towards men. Not only has it no place in a Church, I would say it has no place anywhere, not in a Church, but also not in the work place, not in the school, nowhere. Honestly, I would really like to see the word “effeminate” completely disappear. It is not only unacceptably sneakily derogatory in its use towards men, but I also feel like it is something of a back-door, back-handed, round-about insult to women as well, insinuating that somehow the things supposedly “traditionally” ours are somehow “lesser pursuits.” At least this always seemed like the implication to me, when people would essentially laugh at men being like us. Really? Lets just stop all of the categorizing and dividing of people into (sexist) classifications, and instead, lets just let People be People, in all their wonderful, unique, individual and special ways.
