Applause for that definition of what an "opinion" should be, i.e., based upon facts from reliable sources.

Trouble is that we lose way too many people (and not just MAGA) on the "reliable sources" part.

Which is understandable, since there has been a mindboggling expansion of "sources" since the advent of the internet and then social media and then podcasts... and it is all spiraling out of control, at an exponentially increasing rate of speed.

Even I am beginning to struggle at settling upon "reliable sources" I can 100% count upon, having had my faith in entities like the New York Times and PBS Newshour shaken of late by some of their missteps and mischaracterizations of some things.

Ironic isn't it? We are inundated with so much information, knowledge, facts and figures just a mouse click away... perversely leaving us collectively one of the most uninformed societies the world has ever seen. In my opinion.
