Actually I both smiled and grimaced simultaneously when I saw the title of your piece -- which is quite a feat, but I can manage to contort my face in amazing ways in my basement staring at my computer.

I smiled because you are right.

I grimaced because I also frequently write that America is becoming fascist (because it is) ;-) .

But at least I sometimes write about it with a bit of dark humor, since after all, nearing the end of the world, one is supposed to eat, drink and be merry, right? And I'm merry as hell, bashing Republicans. :-)

Still, I did grimace at your complaint, wondering if I am also part of the problem? Well, I only have 500 followers, so perhaps not ...

And do I care? Not really. LOL. I write what I want to write the way I want to write it, and if the fickle Medium Algorithm Gods bless me with a few bucks (their obscure recommendation algorithms rarely do), that is nice. But, I'm not going to go chasing after what Umair has. He is boxed into the expectations of his audience (and I am sure he knows that) and that is hell for any real writer ... by that I mean anyone who wants to explore and expand and challenge themselves within the art of writing.

So, I don't envy Umair, I feel sorry for him actually.
